Non approved deductions for magazines

My name is Louise Fergus, 817-475-****. Why are you taking deductions of $57.83 since February from my bank card. I did not approve this deduction. I understand it is for magazines. Please call me and explain why this is being done. I called the 800 number from the information received from my bank. I was told I would receive a refund of $173.49 which will cover 3 months. They would not refund the 4th month deduction. This why I'm contacting you for a refund of $57.43 to cover the 4th deduction. please cancel any further deductions Please call me and explain the reason for this being done. I received 3 magazines as a promotion. Little did I know Id really be paying and then some a year later. They automatically renew, without your knowledge and do not notify you when they will be doing so. Of course, since i live paycheck to paycheck during winter, (I am a laid off gardener), they billed my account and I bounced and had to pay $35 fee 3 times!!!!! Then, unbekownst to me, the next month they did it again! Thankfully I had the money and just happened to chek my acocunt. WTF!!! Why isnt this illegal? Ho0w many people just pay it who dont even check their accounts? And then even though Id only recieved one magazine, they refused to refund the amount they billed me! Customer service is beyond rude and they wil just hang up on you. I notified my bank just in case.

Don't get involved with this shyster outfit

You do not want to use this so-called magazine service. This company does not make clear that once your trial is up they will charge your credit card for individual issues with no notice.

This is a complete ripoff since there is no notification of the sudden charges and it is not clear through any of the original sign up. Trials should be automatically canceled unless they specifically notify you so you can choose to renew.

The automated service system for cancellation is completely useless as they expect you to speak the single title to cancel, which the system cannot understand. Then you go through speaking the title repeatedly and do this for each title to cancel each individually.

If the machine cannot understand you by the fourth try on the first title, you will finally be switched to someone at a foreign call center who is very difficult to understand.

Shame on the e-Rewards program that works with this shyster outfit and hooks people into this mess. Neither company should be in business.

Not my getting my magazine .

I have not got my Women's world magazine for two weeks in March. When I called I was told that I ad won a 100$ gift card. When I said I wasn"t interested and that I just wanted to know why I wasn't getting my magazines the person I was talking to hung up on me.

Renewed without our permission

There is a withdrawal from our bank account with no number to call as legitimate organizations provide. We recently received a call from a magazine service (that I can only assume was them and I told them we would not be renewing through them as I like to see the prices in comparison to the actual magazine's company prices. I have contacted the bank for the contact information on the withdrawal.

i have been be billed for magazines that I neither ordered or wanted. I have been billed for a couple of years and never received any magazines. Looking at the other reviews, I am not alone. Their practices should be investigated. Total rip off.

Unauthorized bank withdrawals

I won a subscription in 2017 for free magazines, and I was only responsible for paying 8.00 total for shipping of four magazines. Since that time this company has went into my bank account and took money out without my authorization, and I would not have known if I had not checked my bank statements. I spoke to an agent at this company and they are located in India, this agent agreed to refund the money withing two days. If not I will contact my bank to retrieve the money. I advise anyone that is dealing with this company to check their bank account from the first purchase date, as it is apparent that there practices are deceptive . Hope this helps someone

Just got a letter in the mail about 3 magazines my grand daughter supposedly ordered from books a million. She's 13 and the card number does not match any of my bank cards... SCAM-SCAM-SCAM... Couldn't even speak plain English. Just searching for $$$ I guess.... Good thing I can't climb through the phone line.... When will the madness stop. I'm so tired of getting things in the mail, calls on my phone from someone just looking for a sucker to give out your info so they can rip you off. Yea I'm Pissed... I actually got a call from my own phone number about my extended warranty on my car. I don't even have a car... Just shoot them all....

Where is my magazine?

You took money from my account without asking for a renewal of Reader's Digest but the expiration date is the same. What is the deal?!? How did you get into my account and why was I not notified of this? Are you a scam company like many other people have stated here? I would like an answer asap. Kinda tricky of you that this review has to be 100 words long. So again how did you get into my account, and do will you be doing it again, and if so you are in big big big big big big big big big trouble. So now I have written 100 words so replay to me as soon as possible.

My father still not getting his Christmas gift ordered middle of Dec. and it is middle of August.

I ordered a subscription to the Smithsonian magazine in December of 2017. It was supposed to be sent to my father as his Christmas gift. He still has not received a single issue as of middle of August, 2018. I have emailed and called several times. They even contacted me once via email to tell me they made a mistake and it would be resolved. The last call I made to them in August to complain, I keep getting the runaround and will be called back to resolve the issue. Three calls later, they are still telling me I will receive yet another call from them..... They insist they have been sending them. My father has not received any issues..... they did send ME two issues to make up for him not getting his. How does that help??? We do not live close to each other.

I fell for it, too

I fell for this trap, as many of you on this board did. As I checked out on a website making another purchase, I got the pop-up advertising that I qualified for up to 4 magazine subscriptions for $2 each for a year. I signed up and everything is hunky-dory until a year later I get an email reminding me my subscriptions will auto-renew the following week. The email states I can review my subscriptions on their self-service website, which I attempted but it prompts for user name and password, which is supposed to be my email address. I tried to log in with every email address I use, and keeps telling me my user name is not file. This included the same email they sent the reminder to. Try to call the phone number and you get a lot of fancy electronic tones and switching around, but after 5 minutes on hold never got a live person. Sent an email to the "message us" link, but to date have had no response. Stay away from these people, stay far away!

Canceled my subscription for no reason

I am missed the last two issues of The Week. After many phone calls and time spent on email and phone, they tell me that THIS IS WHERE THE CANCELLATION happened. I am done and pissed. I want resolution. I thought I was dealing directly with the Week itself and find out that this clearing house is the entity that put this subscription together. I want this subscription continued since my credit cared was charged for the entire yearly subscription. What is the problem with these people. This was canceled for no reason and not by me. I have put in other complaints to the BBB as well. No one seems to care at all. Thank you in advance. resolution now. NOW......
